Characters are opposites,help?

I'm including a romance in my story but it will not be the main plot. The characters are thrown together because of they're skills. I want them to fall in love but it's medieval times and I'm not sure how to do that. Any ideas? I'm not asking you to write the story for me, just ideas like 'have them go through a hardship together'. Thanks :)
