My mother thinks my boyfriend is insane?

He is not insane, that is just something that he is interested in and if you have done the same thing in the past, you were not insane either. Some people have hobbies that others feel that those are odd hobbies. I am not sure why your mom has such strong feelings toward this type of hobby, maybe you may want to ask her why she feels that is is insane.
