well for the first link, that only really applied to Queen Elizabeth I of England, whereas members of her court were not allowed to wear as fancy gowns as her. And hers would most likely would have must more jewels and sparkly things on them, as was her custom. If your thinking of just england, then earlier on in the time of Henru VIII, the dresses went from simple, spanish design, to french with long tapering sleeves and low v necks, to v necks with lots of embroidery, to anything with a lot of jewels and lace, to demure and simple gowns, based on who he had as queen at the time. Then when his son was king, Edward, there were no real fashions for women because he had no queen and no women were really at court, then during Mary I's reign it was demure colors with great sparkling jewels, then Elizabeth brought in the high lace cover things that went from the sides of the ladies bossom up behind her head, and the big ruffs at the neck
